Geldings:

Dusty

Dusty is a 9-year-old Bay Gelding. He is shy but shows signs of confidence. Dusty is sharp and, on his game, needs to keep his feet moving. Dusty likes to be the boss, can be impatient but with consistent time he will develop his trust in you. Dusty needs a job.

Indiana

Indiana is a 5 year old bay Gelding. He is over 15 hands high. Indiana is on site again after being gone a little while. He is doing really well in his daily handling and is learning to trust us. He will excel with further training and daily handling.

This horse is a very quick learner!

Indy

Indy is a beautiful Sorrel gelding. Indy is about 5 years old. He is a very solid horse. He is not very reactive. If something is new, Indy stops to check it out and then carries on. Indy is a dominant horse, and needs to be treated as such. He has had all 4 feet trimmed and is getting better each time.

Ira

Ira is a 3-year-old Bay. This sweet and quiet gelding has a very soft demeanour to him but has a tendency to hold his emotions inside. He can become your willing and trusting partner given the time and chance. He is responsive to his ongoing training. Very compliant member of the herd.

Ivan

Meet Ivan, this light bay gelding is approximately 5 years old. Ivan is curious but very cautious. He thrives on consistency in his training, and would do well with someone with experience. Ivan is halter broke, and walks well online, he leads into a tie stall each day for food and grooming. Ivan has good confirmation and is an easy keeper.

This beautiful soul is sensitive, and he is working hard to develop his level of trust with our daily handling techniques. Ivan can be immersed into new herds, as he manages well with other horses.

Hapaco

Asking 45OO Hapaco •Gender- gelding •Age- 5-6 years •Height- 15hh, he’s so chunky, but he’s taller than he looks •5 months training •good for the farrier •Ties well •Trailers well *DETAILS* (the real important stuff) This sweetheart has been with me for 2 months of training. He came to me with 3 months on him and needing more miles. I’ve had him in the feedlot, worked cows and calves a little, been out to the mountains with him, and ponied colts off him. He’s definitely reserved and takes time to get to know you and trust you. He needs someone experienced and who is willing to work with him and be patient he has some anxiety issues with new things and he’s quite reactive to things that he fears. He’s not a flight risk and he hasn’t bucked with me. He’s scoots forward or sideways if something scares him, but someone comfortable with a green horse would be just fine on him! I don’t want to scare anyone off, I just don’t believe in being dishonest to get a sale. His trainer care’s a lot about this horse and wants to make sure his next home is a good fit, and is willing to work with you to ensure a good fit, in fact it is recommend!

Adoption Application

WHOAS has an adoption application that will allow us to assure that wild horses that are available for adoption will go to suitable homes. The individuals adopting horses by filling out the application will show that they have the proper facilities and knowledge of horses to provide a forever loving home.

Please click on the attached .pdf file which can be downloaded.  All interested parties should contact us to arrange a time to come and visit the horses at our rescue/handling facility which is west of Sundre, AB. Here you will have an opportunity to learn about our gentling techniques in order that there will be a safe transition to their new homes.

Horses adopted from WHOAS are released on condition that they never be sold at auction or for slaughter. All male horses will be gelded before they leave WHOAS premises.
