Support for WHOAS

WHOAS continues to provide opportunities for the public to learn about our Alberta wild horses – where they live, what they look like, what are the challenges for them living wild. One of our education projects is to be able to invite people to visit our rescue/handling facility which is west of Sundre, Alberta.

Visitors will be given a tour by our volunteers and have a chance to see the wild horses we have in our care at the moment as well as visit Portero the resident herd stallion and his mares and foals. As you can imagine it costs a lot these days to provide feed (hay) pay for veterinary care, as well as keep our facility running.

This year we have been working on a selection of items visitors can purchase as a tangible memory of their visit . Have a look at our items for sale and plan on visiting. Please send an email to whoasalberta@outlook.com and we will get back to you to schedule a visit. Alternately, you can call the site and leave a message at 587-444-2247. Since we are run by volunteers, we need to ensure someone is available to take you for a tour.
